I loved this cake! It was fun to make for a thirtieth birthday for a beautiful girl. I was so excited to see that the cake fit right in with the decor of the party. It was vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream and fresh strawberries.
My friend Kathy Malloy belongs to a great organization called Shane's Inspiration-The mission of Shane's Inspiration is to create inclusive playgrounds and programs that unite children of all abilities. This cake was for a tea that she holds every year to raise money for the cause.
Hawaiian Cowboy? They do exist! This cake was for a lady that loved horses, cowboys and Hawaii. I did a cowboy sunset cake a while ago that she liked and we just added the Hawaiian touches to it for this cake. I lucked out with the purple and gold colors....found out later that she was a Laker fan too!
It took a long time to make all these minions! But in the end it was well worth it.........they were so funny looking! This is a chocolate cake with cream cheese frosting and raspberry filling. The candle in the unicorn's cake was a real candle to light for the birthday girl.
