Boy's Best Friends

This design came straight from the birthday boy's invitation! The frog is even made out of cake.
My dad built the stand and the wagon handle but everything else is completely edible. I even tried to mimick the Radio Flyer logo with the birthday boy's name. The small cake with the frog on top is to be removed for the baby so he can smash it!

Spooky Halloween Cakes

Lasso a cake

It was a lot of fun to use my airbrush on this cake to do the sunset. The cowboy's name is on the cake, spelled out in the lasso!

Autumn Cakes

A couple of small 6" cakes celebrating the arrival of fall!

Pear Cake

This was not a fancy cake, but it was so yummy!
Vanilla Cinnamon cake with pear compote filling and champagne buttercream!

Coffee and Chocolate Frenzy

Making fondant coffee beans was a task that took a lot longer than I had imagined, but they looked so real when I was finished.....totally worth it!
Camille was leaving her job at Peet's coffee and Lynae wanted to surprise her with a cake to celebrate!
Mocha cake, mocha buttercream, mocha fondant and the coffee beans are all chocolate...
Buzz, buzz, buzz!

There is a light in my cake

A good friend asked me to make a beach themed cake, but not the usual So Cal coast theme. So we decided on the lighthouse, two layers...carrot cake on top and chocolate on bottom with cream cheese buttercream.
The top of the lighthouse comes off and I inserted a small light that you can turn on and off.

Hot Dog!

I had been patiently waiting for someone to order a hot dog cake......and it paid off! It is a vanilla cake with champagne buttercream. The first time I got to play with my new airbrush! I delivered this cake to a really cool restaurant in Santa Monica and I wish I could have stayed for the reaction.

The cutest little boy Angel, wanted a Toy Story cake for his birthday! The characters are all made from fondant and the cake was layers of vanilla and vanilla chocolate chip with Champagne buttercream. He was so thrilled to see his cake that he stood right next to it and I was able to snap the photo. Those are the moments that make me want to keep doing this!

Gluten Free at the Wedding

A local caterer contacted me regarding a wedding that she was going to be doing. The daughter of the bride was gluten free and needed a small gluten free cake to place on the table along side the regular wedding cake. The cake is a 6" gluten free chocolate cake with chocolate ganach filling and champagne buttercream. The photo is of the cake with a copy of the wedding invitation.

Susan and Shane's Wedding

A good friend of mine decided to have a surprise wedding and asked me to do her cake. She sent me a photo of her dress purchased in Olvera Street in Los Angeles. It was a beautiful Mexican style dress with roses and lace. I used the photo of the dress to design the cake, matching the color of the roses and doing a more modern style lace. I found ribbon that matched to colors of the roses to add to the bottom of the base. The cake was vanilla chocolate chip with champagne buttercream.

Trader Joe's cake

I have a part time job for Trader Joe's, which is a great place to work! They threw a party for us in a local park and hired me to make the cake. It was a full sheet cake, never made a cake that big! Chocolate on one half and vanilla on the other with bavarian cream buttercream. The kukui shell necklace is something we wear at the store when we are doing customer service, so my daughter suggested that we make one from fondant and put it on the cake! What a great idea! I used the logo on our Trader Joe's paper bag to hand paint the logo onto the fondant. We had a really great party!

Unicorn Cake

This was the first half sheet cake I had made for a client. Her daughter was having a unicorn birthday party for 60. The unicorn is all made from fondant. Chocolate cake with champagne buttercream!

Piano Cake for recital

This was probably the most fun and rewarding cake that I have made to date. The piano was crafted from rice crispy treats and covered in fondant. The cake was a chocolate fudge cake with my signature champage buttercream!
The best part was delivering it to my friend Larry's niece at her piano recital! She had no idea he was bringing her a cake and the look on her face when she saw it was priceless!

The kind of request that brings joy to my heart.....a bridal shower, but not just any bridal shower request! Congratulations to the bride!

My Graduate!

My youngest daughter graduated from elementary school, I have such mixed emotions. I'm so sad that my baby is all grown up, but it is nice to see her grow up into such an amazing young lady! What I didn't have mixed emotions about was what kind of graduation cake to do......it HAD to be Hello Kitty! Congratulations baby, I am so proud of you!

Vikings Fans!

My friend Deirdre's family are HUGE Minnesota Vikings fans! Deirdre wanted to know if I could make a cake for one of their son's birthdays...Vikings theme of course! Marble cake with bavarian cream buttercream!

Golf Anyone!

A friend of mine named Justine ordered a cake from me for an office birthday and now says that her fellow employees liked it so much, they wanted another! Justine told me the cake was for someone that liked to golf, but not to go out of my way to do anything special. I decided to use some rice cripsy treats to make a golf ball and cover it with fondant. I also made a little tee out of fondant. Justine request not to cover the cake in fondant, as they LOVE the buttercream! I hope Al had a nice birthday and enjoyed his cake.

Finding Nemo

A friend asked me to create a cake for his girlfriend's birthday. He told me they liked to have dinner at the beach together. After some brainstorming, we came up with the Finding Nemo idea and it turned out pretty great! It is a 4 layer cake, vanilla bean with pineapple filling and champagne buttercream. 2 of the layers are swirled with an ocean blue color and the top and bottom layers are plain vanilla bean cake. I hope they will take a photo once the cake is sliced so I can see if it looks as cool as I imagine it to.

Fondant Fun

After making the farm animals and some fondant pieces for a camping cake, I think I am addicted! In the past I have stuck with the buttercream basics, but now I can't look back.
My daughter was having a party at school today, knowing there would be cake that she couldn't eat because of the gluten......she asked me to make her a cake that all the teenage girls would enjoy. The cake was gluten free butterscotch with champagne buttercream! I look forward to hearing how the kids liked it! The black leopard spots were hand painted on the fondant.

Farm Cake

I have been blessed to collaberate with an old friend, here is a farm cake that we did together!
